Institutionalizing Mission and Values at eSewa
The Client: eSewa – Nepal’s pioneering and largest digital wallet payment service provider.
Background: Following significant post-COVID growth, eSewa embarked on a strategic initiative to strengthen its talent pool and improve operational efficiencies as part of its market expansion plan. A key focus of their learning and development strategy was to institutionalize the company’s mission and values across their 350+ employees stationed across Nepal.
Solution: Gumboot Learning designed an engaging and culturally resonant eLearning solution to reinforce eSewa’s mission and values:
- Case-Based Learning:
Developed five animated video case stories, each approximately three minutes long, addressing workplace scenarios that reflected eSewa’s core values.
- The cases were designed with a local flavor, making them relatable and engaging for employees.
- Common workplace challenges were highlighted to encourage reflection and alignment with company values.
- Interactive Scenarios and Questions:
- Scenarios and quizzes were incorporated to test understanding and reinforce key lessons.
- One particular question had an intentionally ambiguous response, sparking debates and discussions among employees.
Key Outcomes
- The course successfully fostered conversations around eSewa’s values, with employees reasoning and aligning their perspectives.
- By generating healthy discussions, the program exceeded expectations, embedding company values organically through peer interactions and collective reasoning.
This unique approach not only helped employees internalize eSewa’s values but also demonstrated the power of engaging, scenario-based eLearning in driving organizational alignment and cultural integration.
