Empowering Non-Profit Organizations with Hybrid Learning for Gender-Based Violence Awareness
The Client: A prominent non-profit organization dedicated to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promoting women’s health. This project, in collaboration with Gumboot Learning, was funded by UNDP
Background: The client aimed to develop engaging eLearning content for students in grades 8, 9, and 10 across 10 schools. The goal was to equip students with a foundational understanding of Gender-Based Violence, enabling them to actively participate in a hybrid learning model, which included a two-day physical workshop.
Solution: Gumboot Learning designed and developed a comprehensive eLearning solution comprising 10 interactive lessons on Gender-Based Violence. The curriculum was crafted in collaboration with UNDP and subject matter experts provided by the client. To make the content relatable and impactful, the lessons featured real-life-inspired case stories with branch-out decision-making scenarios. These scenarios reflected typical adolescent experiences related to GBV, encouraging critical thinking and empathy among learners.
Additionally, we tailored specific sections of the course to reflect individual school requirements, such as contact points and campus-specific information. This customization ensured greater relevance and engagement.
Impact: The program was a resounding success, with approximately 4,000 students completing the courses within a record time of three months. This initiative not only raised awareness among young learners but also empowered them to understand and address Gender-Based Violence effectively in their communities.
This project exemplifies Gumboot Learning’s ability to create meaningful, impactful eLearning solutions that cater to unique organizational and learner needs.
